Dear class of 2020,

Updated: Jul 10, 2020

As the world grapples to face the challenges associated with the current pandemic, you and your peers have demonstrated resilience as you face the loss of your greatly anticipated senior year. As we associate your class with resilience, we must remember that the term does not mean you have not experienced struggles, challenges, or a need for guidance. With the time-honored traditions of prom, graduation, and all other end of senior year events facing cancellation, it is natural to feel disappointed, discouraged, and a sense of loss. Joining the Virtual High School Seniors Support Group will help you feel heard by connecting you with other seniors who can directly relate to what you are experiencing. Come join the confidential discussion to on topics such as:

- Validation of your overall sense of loss

- Process how it feels to miss your final prom and graduation

- Recommendations and tips for the closure of your senior year

- Feeling as if your family and non-senior friends cannot relate

- The uncertainty of your fall semester of freshman year

- Transitioning from high school to college/workforce

- Anything else within topic that the group would like to discuss, we can!

Although we cannot control the cancellations and missed opportunities, we have the ability to control our mindset and the way in which we respond. Let's come together to support each other, you are not alone in this!

Our first meeting is Monday, May 11 at 2:00pm EST. Please sign up through the link here. We hope you will join the discussion with other seniors just like you!
