A graduate from Long Island University, Frances Welsh, has been a licensed practitioner since 2012 providing both individual psychotherapy and facilitating psychoeducational groups. She has been working to improve the lives of those with depression, anxiety, panic disorder, bipolar disorder, crisis counseling, life transitions, grief and loss. Her therapeutic orientation encourages her to see people as unique individuals who have particular strengths while assisting them in identifying triggers which contribute to maladaptive behaviors and negative perceptions. She understands the strong correlation between the mind and body to achieve overall wellness. Frances incorporates a variety of therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Accelerated Resolution Therapy to meet each individual’s needs.

The search for understanding oneself through psychotherapy is unique to each person. Together we will take time to discover and explore what influences your beliefs and your responses. Frances will look for patterns in your relationships, in your thinking and in your actions, so that we may better understand how your past continues to live on in the present. This careful attention to your inner world can lead to feelings of greater resilience and calm, more effective coping skills, and lasting change.
